A tough week for the students with their assessments taking up some of this week. Even though it is tough it is also important so that we can see how well they are doing and ensure we can continue to help them in the best way possible. Due to the assessments this week and being away on the residential trip next week, I am not sending any homework.
As well as the assessments in English, we continued our unit on biographies. The students read various biographies from the book ‘Rise Up: Ordinary Kids with Extraordinary Stories’ answered questions about them and looked at writing summaries.
During IPC, we looked at classifying animals; the students made a poster explaining one animal class with pictures and the key features. Also, we looked at life cycles; they drew a life cycle and explained each stage, then compared and contrasted them. After that, we explored animal adaptations; they focused on one prey and predator to see how they adapted to escaping predators or capturing prey.
