Welcome Mr Morgan

We are pleased to announce that Mr Richard Morgan will be joining our teaching staff next year.

Mr Morgan impressed us during his interview and during the year he spent in school last year. Mr Morgan has a wealth of experience teaching in Korea and is well known and liked by our staff and students. We look forward to welcoming him to HFS where he will be teaching the Year 5/6 class.

Trips

There are lots of exciting trips coming up in the last two weeks of term. Be sure to check your Class Update for more information. Next week the Upper School are going to Busan to ride the coastal train or visit the aquarium. In the last week of term, all classes will be going on a fun trip to celebrate the end of the year.

Reports and Parent-Teacher Conferences

You should receive your child’s End-of-Year Report today and your child’s teacher will be communicating arrangements for Parent Teacher Conferences. Please make sure to check for a Class Update and make an appointment. Remember, we are always happy to accommodate any request for a meeting with a teacher or the Principal.

School Consultative Group Meeting

Our next School Consultative Group Meeting will be held on Thursday 15th June at 5.30 pm at school.

The School Consultative Group is an opportunity for Parents, Staff and Management to come together to share information and opinions about the development of our school.

At School Consultative Groups meetings the school will give a presentation covering recent developments and parents will have a chance to ask questions. The presentation will be shared via the newsletter along with minutes of the meeting for those unable to attend. All parents are welcome to attend but are reminded that the focus of this meeting is on whole school issues and that individual concerns are better raised directly with the class teacher or the Principal. If you have items you would like added to the agenda will kindly ask that you inform us in advance so we are prepared to provide a considered response.

Items to be covered in the school presentation will include:

  • An update on the plans for relocation to the new school site. We will also share some designs.
  • An update on Lunch Box provision for next year
  • Staffing for 2023/24
  • A new school logo
  • School Development and Strategic Planning for 2023/24

Teacher Placement for next year

The process of deciding which teacher will teach each class is one the school considers very carefully. There are many factors to think about and it is necessary to find the right balance. At HFS we are lucky that all our students know all our teachers and everyone would be happy and do great things with whoever they are working with.

  • Foundation Stage: Mrs McClellan
  • Year 1/2: Mrs Sim
  • Year 3/4: Mr Dunn
  • Year 5/6: Mr Morgan
  • Year 789: Mrs Leah

COVID-19 and General Cold Guidelines

To prioritise the safety of our school community, we kindly ask students with cold symptoms such as a sore throat, coughing, or high fever to stay home until the symptoms subside or wear masks while at school.

In accordance with updated government guidelines, students who test positive for COVID-19 are strongly advised to refrain from attending school for five days. Our HFS COVID-19 Protocol has been updated accordingly.

Address Changes

If any families are planning to move to a different address over the summer, we kindly request that you inform Ms Yujin as soon as possible. This is important for us to make necessary arrangements for pick-up and drop-off points for the school bus for the new school year.

Great Learning Happening

Last Friday the Upper School took a trip to Atherton International School on Geoje Island. Whilst we were there we had the chance to meet some new friends and join in some friendly competition. Everyone had a great time camping out in the gym at AIS, eating pizza for dinner and watching a movie. Thanks to AIS for having us.
