Invoice

An invoice for the next school year was sent home last Monday.  Please transfer the amount to the designated school account by July 20th.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Summer Newsletters

There will be newsletters during the summer vacation with information about the next school year.  Please check regularly for emails from the school during the summer.

After School Activities

There will be no after school activities next week.  We want to thank the teachers who kindly volunteered to run the activities and clubs this year.  

PTA Meeting

There will be a PTA meeting at 9 am on Tuesday in the cafeteria.  All parents who will be here next academic session are encouraged to attend.

Parent Volunteer Thank You Luncheon

So many parents have volunteered their time this year on numerous occasions.  We would like to have a luncheon with parents On Wednesday June 27th at 1 pm.  Students will eat in the cafeteria at 12:30 and then will be taken to the pitch for a dodgeball tournament while the adults enjoy the luncheon.  All parents are welcome.  Please click here to indicate your attendance.

Farewell Party/Final Assembly

The final assembly will be on Friday June 29th at 9:15 am.  Students will be dismissed at 12:30 and the school bus will depart at 12:40.

New Staff

• Mrs. Marie McClellan – FS1, FS2, Year 1.

Marie is from Canada and is currently teaching grade 2 at Shanghai HD Bilingual School in Shanghai.  She has taught in Indonesia, South Korea and Canada.  She is married and enjoys crafts, cooking, travel and photography.

• Mr. David Gaffney – Years 4, 5, 6.

David is from Ireland and is currently teaching year 6 at Shaftesbury Primary School, London.  He has also taught in Ireland and Spain.  He enjoys outdoor pursuits, caving and crafts including woodwork and metalwork.

• Mr. Nathan Dunn – Years 7, 8, 9.

Nathan is from the UK and is currently teaching Year 5 at Peel Park Primary School in Bradford, UK.  He has worked in the UK and South Korea.  He is married with a Korean wife and one child.

We are all looking forward to our final week of the school year.

 Our Parent/Teacher Conferences will be on Wednesday June 20th.  There is a sign-up sheet at the school office to confirm your appointment time or call 052-250-2851.

 Please note that Wednesday will still be a school day.  Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place from 1:30 pm to 6 pm.  The school bus will be provided, as usual at 12:30 pm. 

 Welcome to bring your child to the conference.  I feel it is much more productive when the child is present at the Parent/Teacher Conference.

It will be an exciting two weeks ahead of us to wrap up our school year and time on this beautiful campus.  We are all looking forward to it and will keep you informed of the events and activities.

Reports

Reports will be sent home on Friday.  Be sure to fill in the appropriate area and bring it to the Parent/Teacher conference.

Drama Club on June 20th and Softball on June 22nd will be cancelled.  The last day of after school activities will be on June 21st.

PTA Movie and Pizza Afternoon

What a huge success!  We would like to thank the PTA for sponsoring this fine event!

Dear Parents,

Another super week at school for students and staff.  We have been busy enjoying the festivities surrounding the end of the school year. 

SKAK Track and Field Carnival

On Tuesday, the Year 4-9 students participated in the annual Track and Field Carnival organized by the South Korean Activities Conference.  We were lucky to have the privilege of competing within a full-sized stadium, and the students were all in awe as we entered the venue. 

HFS placed first in six events, three of which went to our future Olympian, Srinika. Om placed first in the 200m and surprised everyone by dominating in the long jump.  Jin Myeong won the vortex throw!  Lucas celebrated his birthday by placing second in the 1000; while competing against older students!  Alicia, Ethan, Daphne and Dina also placed in their events.  A special thanks goes out to our honorary coaches, Hayun and Mackenzie, who coached and organized the students throughout the day.

Mr. McCrimmon is proud of the HFS students that attended because of their overall effort, and how well they composed themselves.  Please enjoy the photos courtesy of Mr. Munden.  

Beach Clean Up

We had a great morning at Ilsan Beach on Thursday.  The entire school went to the beach with bags to pick up trash.  We did some sport in the sand and put our feet in the water to cool off!

Then we went for Ice Cream at the Moby Dick Cafe, which everyone enjoyed.  We would like to thank the PTA for sponsoring our tasty ice cream.  We would also like to thank the parents who joined us.  I believe they enjoyed it, as well.

Election Day

There will be no school on Wednesday, June 13th, as it is an election day.  Have a super day.

As it is nearing the end of the year we want to do something different for all the children and families next Thursday afternoon!

At midday the children will walk to the clubhouse.  There will be a pizza lunch provided by the PTA, we will be asking for parents to provide yummy treats as well.

After lunch the children will be sitting down with some popcorn and watching a movie!  They will then return to school before the end of day bell.

DONATIONS REQUESTED

It would be great if you could provide a plate of healthy treats to be enjoyed with the pizza for lunch.  Cut fruit, biscuits, cake or other yummy food.  Please either bring to school on Thursday morning or to the clubhouse after 11am Thursday, or bring with you at 12pm!

PLEASE REMEMBER NO NUTS!

Track and Field Carnival in Busan

The Year 4-9 students will be participating Track and Field Carnival in Busan tomorrow.

They must arrive at school no later than 7:40 am.  We will arrive back at HFS around 4:30 – 5:00 pm.

Memorial Day

There will be no school on Wednesday, June 6th.

Beach Clean Up at Ilsan Beach

All students will be participating in a beach clean up at Ilsan Beach on Thursday, June 7th.

We will take a bus from HFS at 9:15 am, right after a short assembly.  We will depart from the beach at 11:45 am and have a lunch at school.

Note that all students are to sign up for the trip and everyone is welcome. Please inform us of how many family members are coming.  All welcome!
