Newsletter Term 3 Week 7

Posted in - Latest News

Dear Parents, Students and Staff,

Welcome to this week’s newsletter. There is still an air of excitement around the school today after last night’s stellar premier of ‘The Return of the Return of Mr. Nasty’. This new action / romance / comedy movie was well received by all who were present, and the movie’s end was greeted by a standing ovation for the director and the stars, many of whom are sure to have Hollywood agents beating a path to their door. More from our very own Steven Spielberg, Mr. Fairclough, below: –

Thank you to all for making the showing of our film a night to remember.

If you would like a copy I can either do so by email or if you send a memory stick/USB to me then this is also fine.

You are very welcome to copy and share with family and friends but please do not put the film, or clips of the film, on social media sites.

Thank you,

Mr. Fairclough

SKAC Sports Day at Sajik Stadium, Busan

HFS students enjoyed a very successful day participating in the annual SKAC Sports Day. However, just as pleasing as any sporting success was the conduct of the students and the accompanying teachers were delighted with their attitude and sporting fairness. Please see below for the HFS results, with congratulations due to all our students who participated with great spirit and determination. My thanks to Mr. Moss in preparing the students so well for the competition, and to Mr. and Mrs. Munden, and Miss Duri, for accompanying and supporting the students on a very hot day!

Evacuation Drill at HFS

The school carried out an emergency on-site evacuation drill at the main school and the Early Years Centre at 9.45 a.m. this morning. This was preceded by a test emergency text message that was sent to all cell phones for which parents had provided contact numbers. If you did not receive this text message please inform the school administration office so that emergency contact details can be updated.

School Closed Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th June

A gentle reminder that HFS will be closed to students next week for our staff professional development day on Monday, and the Memorial Day public holiday on Tuesday.

Lunch and Snack cutlery

Please provide the requisite cutlery for the students to use at snack and lunchtime. Unfortunately, the school supply of forks has greatly diminished recently and we are waiting for further supplies.

HFS Sports Day – Please see below for important information regarding the collection of students after the event

A gentle reminder of the changes to our school programme for HFS Sports Day. All children will go home after the sports meeting from the HFS site, at no later than 1 p.m. This will allow some recovery time for our students, and our staff! To compensate for this, Wednesday 14th June will be a full school day, and follow the regular Thursday timetable and curriculum. Please see below: –

To ensure the safety of our students, and for ease of organisation, parents must collect students ONLY FROM HFS after the conclusion of the event. No students are to be collected directly from Spanish Fields. All students will return to school.

  • Wednesday 14th June – school hours 8.55 a.m. to 3.15 p.m.
  • Thursday 15th June – school hours 8.55 a.m. to 1 p.m. (latest)
Rising Stars soccer school will still be at the usual time on Thursday afternoon.

Parent volunteers for Sports Day

There is still time for parents to volunteer as helpers on the day. If you can volunteer, please contact Mr. Moss, or PTA (pta@hyundaiforeignschool.com). All help is gratefully received and greatly appreciated.

Please do check and LIKE our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/hyundaiforeignschool/ for photographs, student articles and updates about all that happens at HFS.
