Back to a bit of normality after a week of practice exams, we have been able to make a good start on our new topics for each subject. I would also like to welcome Max back, previously he spent a week with us before moving onto different schools around the world and now he is with for this week and next.
In Science, the students have continued their work around the topic of Existing, Endangered Extinct? We looked at the difference between vertebrates and invertebrates. Then we moved on to work around food webs, food chains, and trophic levels as well as looking at different life cycles.
In PE, we have now moved on to net games and we will be focussing on volleyball, the students have worked at keeping the ball in the air in pairs and in groups and we also worked on getting the ball over the net as well being able to return it.
On Friday, we also spent some of the day giving presentations on countries that the students are from, this was set as homework and it has been great to learn about each country as well as practicing speaking in front of an audience.
Finally in English, the students have continued to look at newspaper reports, this week we have looked at reported speech and creating headlines and soon the students will be working on creating their own newspaper report.
