Term 3 Week 6 Update

Hello everyone!

Firstly, some reminders for Sports Day, which is this Friday. If each student could wear a team-coloured t-shirt that day, that would be great! We also ask that students bring:

  • Sun caps
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Non-microwavable lunch (we will picnic outside)
  • Team colour t-shirt team colours.
  • Sports-appropriate clothing and shoes

Last week was a lot of fun as we started to celebrate the end of the academic year with our ABC countdown to Summer. So far we had A for animals, B for Breakfast, and C for Country Day. On Wednesday, the students brought in a stuffed animal to sit on their desk, on Tuesday we shared a small breakfast together and on Friday we had a food share and learnt about each other’s home countries.

In English, we started a unit around the graphic novel ‘When Stars are Scattered’. We made predictions, looked at the features of graphic novels, compared to different graphic novels and looked at the main characters.

This week in Math, the students studied and practiced the laws of arithmetic (Commutative, Associative and Distributive laws). They also learned about the correct order of operations.

During IPC, we looked at extreme habitats and the animals that have adapted to survive there. The students choose animal and made a poster to explain its adaptation to that environment.

That’s all for this week, see you all at Sports Day on Friday.
