Week 15 Update

Hello everyone!

Next week is the final week of term and will end with the Winter Show. For a class performance, the students will sing the 12 days of Christmas, each child has a day to represent each. It would be great if each student could wear something festive or festive colours for this performance. Please, don’t feel the need to buy anything new for this.

In English, we are coming to the end of our syllabic poetry, I asked the students to create an anthology of some of their favorite poems they have looked at using bookcreator.

In maths, the children spent the week looking at data handling, creating graphs from data as well as analysing and interpreting different graphs.

For IPC, we had some great fun looking at non-Newtonian fluids, the students were able to explore this by playing with a mixture of cornstarch and water. They were able to see that when a force is applied quickly to the mixture it was a solid, but when a force is applied slowly the mixture is a liquid. They then created an advertisement to sell this mixture as a toy. The students also, explored glass making, by blowing bubbles as Homework the students will need to research the glass making process.

That’s all for this week, have a great weekend, and see you all next Friday for the Winter Show.
