Week 8 Update

We are now halfway through the first term of this academic year, with so much learning done and so much still to do, time is flying by. Don’t forget, next Friday is our school Halloween party, there will be lots of games, candy, and spooky movies. I hope your costumes are ready!

To the end of our IPC unit ‘Temples Tombs, and Treasures,’ as an Exit Point students have been making an Ancient Egyptian diorama. Each student’s diorama has been designed and made by themselves and shows a different aspect of our learning this term. These will be finished off next week, with a short explanation, explaining what the children have learnt. The children, also, got to check out their mummified tomatoes and see how they turned out.

Also, we are coming to the end of our nonfiction unit on non-chronological reports, today the children wrote up their own report independently and on Monday they will edit and improve their work, before starting a poetry unit.

In maths, the children showed a lot of Growth Mindset as we tackled short division all week, they found it hard at times, but didn’t give up. Today I allowed the students to be the teacher to see if they could help each other and ended it with a division card game.

That’s all for this week, have a great weekend!
