Week 14 Update

This week in IMYC we looked at different polymers and how they are designed for their specific purpose, we also went to the Ongi Museum where the learners had the opportunity to let their creativity show by making clay pots. The learners also looked at how these pots developed over the years, their uses, and the process of making them from clay to finished pot.

The learners also created a storyboard for their own game creations. Incorporating what they have discovered about different genres and types of games. Learners also designed gloves for specific uses discussing the appropriate materials to use for the function of the gloves. The learners could then decide to either program a game or make a pair of gloves.

During Geography, the learners looked at different ways to move water from a low water source to a higher point and designed and build their own versions of water transportation devices.

In Math, the learners looked at some more exponent rules and how to use these to simplify equations.

During our poetic language unit in English, learners made use of more figurative language and learnt about, metaphors, similes and idioms and how these are used to convey meanings in poems. The learners then had to write a poem using figurative language.
