International Week at HFS
On Friday 26th March 2010, Hyundai Foreign School (HFS) and its community came together to celebrate our countries, cultures and traditions. HFS began the festival with an International parade involving all members of the community. The parade was a fantastic success and extremely enjoyable for all to see and participate in.
Once the parade was over, everyone made their way up to the International Exhibition hall where all nationalities had an incredibly informative and interesting display, all about their country. There was so much to look at, listen too, and taste; HFS’s community had a fabulous celebration.
Thank you to all involved in this year’s International Festival; students; parents; friends and staff. Together we made the 2010 International Festival a roaring success!
Korean Day

On the Monday of International Week, all students celebrated our host country, South Korea, by taking part in a variety of activities related to Korea. They made Kimbap with Mrs Shin, had a chance to learn and sing some new songs in Korean with Minnie Lee from Flik, learned how to play the Korean drums with Miss Lee, learned a dance to Korean modern music with Ms You and created some beautiful Korean art with Miss Yuli. Look at all the fun HFS students had!
Colouring Flags

Each student from Kindergarten to Year 8, created their own country’s flag to contribute to the whole school International bunting for the festival day. Here are Reception and Year 1 colouring in action.
Activities Day

On Wednesday of International Week, each student had the opportunity to carry out creative activities from around the world. HFS parents and volunteers planned and organised creative learning activities related to their home countries. Students were able to visit each country and complete a fun and creative activity, whilst learning about their friends’ countries. Thank you to all parents and volunteers who helped and supported this event.
International Week Festival

HFS ended International Week with a Grande Finale on Friday. All nationality groups came together and participated in an International Parade on the school playground. Once the parade had finished, all attendees made their way up to the school hall where each nationality group had created beautiful and informative displays about their home countries. A huge thank you to all students, parents, volunteers and staff for making this year’s HFS International Week and Festival a roaring success!
