Lunar New Year at HFS

On Friday 12th February 2010 the students at Hyundai Foreign School celebrated the Lunar New Year.  With the help of their class teachers, Miss Yuli and Minnie Lee from Flik each student had the opportunity to experience a Korean family’s traditional Lunar New Year’s Day ceremony.  Throughout the day the students experienced playing the traditional games played on Lunar New Year’s day in Korea, such as Gongii, Yutnori and Jegi Chagi.

The day was a fantastic success; students, teachers and helpers worked hard to learn all about this important time of year for Korean families.  Please enjoy viewing the photographs here which have captured the most special parts of the day.  Also, visit the school’s main entrance to view the small exhibition of the students’ learning outcomes of the day.

Kindergarten

Many of the children in Kindergarten wore special, traditional costume.  Some children wore the traditional costume from their home country and some children took the opportunity to wear the Korean traditional dress.  Here is Stella in Hanbok; the traditional Korean dress.
