Hello, I hope everyone had a very restful long weekend! Even though this week was a little shorter it has still been a very busy week for London class, with Friday being a particular highlight as most of the day was spent outside for different outdoor learning experiences.
In English, we have continued our around Gothic Horror focusing on Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein. We have focussed on analysing extracts from the text and doing work around this that explores Gothic Horror conventions, authors choices, and characters.
In Geography, we continued our work around plate tectonics, the students were able to explore the movement of the plates using icing and crackers. We also used marshmallows and sprinkles to represent volcanoes.
In science, we have been looking at food webs and food chains so we visited Myeondeok lake, where the students did there best to discover any wildlife they inhabit the lake and the around it. Then students came back and wrote up their observations and also made a food web and food chain based on the animals they found.
We ended the week with a park clean up at Daewangam Park to observe Earth Day/Green Day. This was a great way for the students to learn about environmental awareness and show responsibility for our planet.
That’s all for this week!
