Firstly I’d like to say well done to the Year 6-9 class for having adapted so well to online learning and their continued hard work. It was a shame we couldn’t spend this last week together, but we still had lots of fun this week.
This week, the students created book covers for the stories they wrote in class as well as making a movie trailer to go as well.
In History, after making castles in class and then at home, the students then learnt about siege warfare and how to attack a castle. The students made a presentation about what siege warfare is and the different tactics used and then made their own catapult.
That’s all for this week. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and have a safe and enjoyable break!
Sadly, the term is ending with the School going online for the last week before the winter break. This means that the Winter Show will be postponed. In a bid to try and end the term with some fun, the Christmas party will be done online on Friday!
This week the students learned about different castles during Medieval England, we looked at the strengths and weaknesses of Motte an Bailey castles and Stone castles. After, that the students made their own castles and would write a presuasive presentation to convince Lords to build a their castle.
This term, the students have been playing basketball with myself and Ms. Sim (on Tuesday). This week, we played a full match, with some rule changes so the students could demonstrate the skills they have been practicing.
That’s all for this week, see you online on Monday.
Only two weeks until the end of the first term and what a busy term it has been. The school is looking very festive now as Christmas trees and decorations are now up!
This week, the students explored the Feudal system in History, we role played what it would be like for each group of people using M&Ms to represent taxes. Hannah was the peasants, Dave the Knights, Jeongwoo the Barons and of course I was the King!
In science, the students looked at Cell division, the leanrt how and this happens, then created a model showing each stage of mitosis.
In English, the students are almost at the end of their creative narratives and in maths, we are looking at converting different units of measure.
That’s all for this week, have a great weekend everyone!
