We had an exciting start this week as we welcomed some visitors to the school. None other than the…police! They told us about some of the work they do before giving the children
a short spin in their patrol car which, as you can imagine, the children loved. In IPC this week, we started an exciting new topic called ‘The Great, the Bold and the Brave’. In this unit, we will learn about the Ancient Greek and Roman civilisations. As our entry point, we constructed architectural models of some famous Greek and Roman buildings. The children did a great job at this and they were able to call on some of their maths skills: namely the construction of nets. In maths, we have moved on to our number and problem solving unit. We began by revising the written calculation methods before trying out some word problems. The children did very well and everyone is completing long division questions with increased proficiency. In English, we have started our unit on fantasy stories. We have been reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets which has proven popular with the children. We ended the week with our pajama day. We had a blast at this event while raising money for the We Hope orphanage foundation.
Finally, can I remind you about the survey that the school has created.
