Week 5

This week has been full of learning.  In maths we have continued to look at our measurement unit.  We explored capacity and mass.  This meant practical work where we looked at measuring and then solving word problems.  The students worked hard and solved some very tricky problems!

During English we have practiced our diary writing skills.  We read Anne Fine’s “Diary of a Killer Cat” and then looked at the picture book “Diary of a Wombat”.  The students then picked their favourite pets and write a humorous diary from their point of view.

Here are some completed examples (many of the others are still being typed up!)

Diary of a Hungry Hamster by Theo

A SAUSAGE DOG by Sophie

Diary of a Rat by Seoyoon

In Topic we researched out choice of Olympic sport and ended the week by designing our own snowboards.

Have an excellent weekend and enjoy the Olympic Games!
