EYC Winter Show – Wednesday 9th December
December has arrived and our EYC Winter Show is coming soon!
Our show, “All I want for Christmas is a Friend” will be held on Wednesday 9th December at 11:00am in the Main School Hall. Below is the schedule for the dress rehearsal on Monday 7th December and the Winter Show on Wednesday 9th December. Please send your child’s costume to school by Wednesday 2nd December in a clearly named bag. We ask for all items to be named.
EYC DRESS REHEARSAL – Monday 7th December
All EYC children (F1 and F2) are to attend school from 9:00am at the main school on Monday 7th December.
• F1 children will meet their teachers in Mrs Van Helden’s Office, Upper School building at 9:00am.
• F1 parents will need to collect their children from Mrs Van Helden’s Office, Upper School building at 12:00noon
• F2 children will meet their teachers in the ICT suite, Upper School building at 9:00am.
• F2 children will ride the school bus back to the EYC before lunch. They will continue their afternoon lessons as normal, at the EYC.
• F2 children follow their normal home time routine at 3:10pm for a Monday e.g. school bus to X/R block or main school or collected from the EYC at 3:10pm.
• Parents are not needed at school on Monday. Monday is our practice on the stage in the school hall in preparation for Wednesday’s show.
EYC Winter Show – Wednesday 9th December
All EYC children (F1 and F2) are to attend school from 9:00am at the main school on Wednesday 9th December.
• F1 children will meet their teachers in Mrs Van Helden’s Office, Upper School building at 9:00am.
• F1 parents will need to collect their children from Mrs Van Helden’s Office, Upper School building at 12:00noon
• F2 children will meet their teachers in the ICT, Upper School building at 9:00am.
• F2 parents will need to collect their children from the ICT room, Upper School building after the Christmas Show, once they are changed.
Parents,
• The show begins at 11:00am in the Main School Hall.
Refreshments – After the show
EYC Room Parents have been emailing information to parents about organising refreshments for after the show. Please check your spam folder if you have not received an email from your room parent as some emails have filtered into spam folders instead of inbox folders. Please speak with your Room Parent if you have any queries.
Term 1 Progress Reports and EYC’s next Shared Learning
Our next Shared Learning is scheduled for Friday 11th December when your child’s Term 1 progress reports will be sent home along with their Term 1 end assessments.
• F1 Shared Learning will be held at 11:40am
• F2 Shared Learning will be held at 2:50pm
Parent Interviews – Wednesday 16th December
Parent Interviews are being held in the afternoon of Wednesday 16th December. The Parent Interview is an opportunity for you to discuss your child’s progress after receiving your child’s Term 1 Progress Report and Assessments. A Parent Interview Request form will be sent home with your child in their book bag on Friday for parents to complete and return to school.
Tapestry Learning Journals
This is a reminder to parents who have informed us that your child is leaving HFS, to supply a USB memory stick / flash drive the week before your child’s final day of attendance for you to receive your child’s Learning Journal. Please add your CHILD’S NAME to the USB memory stick / flash drive cover.
Last day of Term 1 – Friday 18th December
On Friday 18th December, F1 and F2 children will be invited to bring a special ‘movie snack’ with them to school to enjoy while watching a movie towards the end of the morning to celebrate a successful Term 1 at the EYC. We ask parents to provide a small tub or bowl that children can enjoy eating their snack from while sitting on the carpet to watch the movie with friends in both F1 and F2. Please keep in mind our EYC Nut and Seafood Allergy policy.

- Monday 7th December – EYC Winter Show Rehearsal
- Wednesday 9th December – EYC Winter Show at 11am.
- Friday 11th December – Term 1 Reports given out at EYC Shared Learning
- Wednesday 16th December – Parent Interview
- Friday 18th December – F1 and F2 children invited to bring ‘movie snacks’ for the last day of term. The EYC closes at lunchtime on Friday 18th December; F1 finish at 12:00noon and F2 at 12:15pm.
