First week – Fun and Learning Begins

Dear Parents and Children,

The first week of the new year at HFS is behind us and what a week it has been in the Year 2/3 class. Firstly, we are happy to welcome Chris and Cherry Blossom to the HFS community. They are already settling in wonderfully into their new class.

This week was largely spent getting to know the new school, new routines and  new classmates. I am happy to have so many familiar faces before me in the class for another year of fun teaching.  In English and Maths this week we started learning about Greek Myths and practiced our multiples of 10’s. In IPC The students looked in wonder at interesting images of “Our World”, things that they would not normally notice since they are too big or small, slow or fast but could appreciate through fantastic time-lapse photography. We have also started using laptops and tablets in ICT, be sure to ask your child’s for their log in cards for Reading Eggs and Mathletics that went home with them today.

That is all for this week. Please keep checking the website for updates of your child’s learning.

Best regards,

Mr. Kearney

Greetings from Year 2-3 Johannesburg Class

Dear Parents and Children

Welcome to  the year 2-3 Class at HFS 2018/19.  I am happy to be back in dual roles as School Coordinator and Class teacher for the year 2-3 group.  This is an exciting new phase in the HFS story and I am looking forward to  a fun-filled year of teaching and learning. I can’t wait to see my returning students and meet new ones who are just starting at HFS . We have transformed the Hanmaeun center into a  world class place of learning and parents and students will be impressed with our new premises and facilities. I look forward to seeing you all at the open day or on  the first day of school on Monday 27 August. Let the learning begin!

Best regards,

Mr Kearney
