Just a reminder that I will not be running my Football, and Multisports Clubs on Wednesday 21st as per permission letter. There are other events also happening e.g. Parent helper lunch, and F2 graduation, which I am involved in.
Thanks for your cooperation.
Start Time: 9:30 am Finish Time: 12:30 pm Where: Spanish Fields, Dong-Gu, Ulsan
On Thursday 15th June F1-Y9 students will take part in the annual Sports Day to be held at the Spanish Fields. Students will be in mixed age teams, and will participate in a number of athletic activities throughout the morning, collecting valuable points in an attempt to be part of the winning team. All teams have been given the name of an animal to create even more excitement! There will also be Year group sprint races, plus tug of war competitions to add spice to the day.
Participation, fun and healthy competition are the aims for the day so please come along and support your child.
It would be appreciated if your child could come to school in their PE uniform and sports shoes. Please also ensure that your child puts sunscreen on before coming to school, and that they bring a hat, a filled water bottle, gloves for the tug of war event, plus a nutritious snack. All students (including EYC) should arrive at main school by 8.45am and will register in their classrooms as normal. EYC staff will meet their students in the front of school and then escort them to the cafeteria.
Students will travel to/from Spanish Fields by bus (please see * note below).
As part of the fun-filled morning, a special parent/teacher tug of war event will be held, so please come along prepared with sports shoes!
*Please note that Thursday 15th is a half day, as has been previously advertised, and there will be no afternoon classes. You may therefore collect your child once they return by bus from Spanish Fields (no later than 1pm).
We look forward to your support on Thursday the 15th.
Due to the poor air quality I have unfortunately had to cancel my Football, and Multisports clubs this afternoon. The hall is already being used for other activities.
Thanks for your consideration.
Please be informed that STUDENTS SHOULD ARRIVE AT SCHOOL IN TIME FOR A 7.15 AM DEPARTURE and not 7.30 as stated in the permission letter. This is to ensure that we arrive in plenty of time for the event at Sajik stadium, Busan. I do hope this does not inconvenience anyone.
Just to remind all participants that they need to bring their normal grey HFS sports t-shirt, shorts, socks, and sports shoes. In addition they also need to bring a NAMED, filled water bottle, a hat, packed lunch, and a snack.
I have also asked students to write down on a piece of paper the times of each event they are competing in, and to wear a watch if they want.
We should arrive back by 4.45pm.
Parents are most welcome to attend, although you must provide your own transport.
Just a reminder that I am looking for parent help for both the HFS Whole School Sports Day on June 15th, and the Swimming classes that commence next week. Without enough parent hands the Sports Day cannot possibly run effectively, as all teaching staff and assistants are all heavily involved already. Basically I need help in escorting the various teams around a course of 7 athletic events and generally supervising them. All simple stuff which will take no longer than one hour. You can then relax and settle down to watch the sprint races and tug of war safe in the knowledge that you have “done your bit” for the HFS community.Your cooperation in this matter would be really appreciated. Full instructions will of course be given.
Please rush your interest to me at email@example.com
I shall be out of school all day on Wednesday 24th May to attend a SKAC meeting, which amongst many things will set dates for next academic years fixtures/events/competitions. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. My clubs will resume on Wednesday 31st May. Many thanks.
I am looking for parent volunteers to help out for part of the whole school Sports Day on Thursday 15th June.
Help will be needed in taking a team of students around a course of activities/events, escorting them to the washrooms, cheering them on when they are competing, getting students to the correct place at the correct time. All easy stuff. Sadly there will be no monetary reward, but you will have the honour of having “done your bit” for the community, in what might prove to be one of the last events for many at HFS. How’s that for a massive incentive!
I could do with a threadbare minimum of 7, but ideally up to 21 pairs of hands.
Could you let me know via email (firstname.lastname@example.org)
I will send out a general Sports Day info message a bit more closer to the date.
Many thanks in anticipation of your cooperation.
The countdown to Tongyeong has begun and we will be soon on our way! We have had meetings with all students together as a big group, and individually with each class. Topics for discussion included trip expectations, packing list requirements, and group togetherness and teamwork.
I asked students to make a start on their packing this weekend and to have their packing lists handy when doing so. Of particular importance is having 2 pairs of sports shoes, toiletries, socks/underwear, and wet/warm/cold weather clothing. If parents could check their child has packed everything this would be a big help.
Students will need a day pack to take on the bus with them which should include their lunch/snacks, water, and a jacket on the trip down to Tongyeong. The rest of their belongings will be in their main bag which will be packed in the hold of the bus, and will not be easily accessible until it is unloaded later on Wednesday afternoon. Students will be transported directly to the Maritime Museum rather than the campsite, so it is important that they all have their day packs with them on the bus.
Please arrive promptly at 6-40am on Wednesday morning so the big bags can be packed in the hold of the bus and we can set off promptly by 7 am.
Everyone is getting excited—-especially the staff!
Adventure Korea has just informed me that because of the current weather conditions and cool sea temperatures it is no longer possible to do the Kayaking activity. The company that runs this particular activity has delayed operations until mid-May. Instead we have been offered a trip to the recently opened Skyline Luge in Tongyeong which is a 1.5km track that students ride a luge down. For further details please visit the following website;
Due to the cancellation of the Kayaking we will now NOT be undertaking the planned swimming test at Namok Pool tomorrow, and as such there will be a normal timetable. The swimming test will instead be done at the beginning of the swimming programme in PE lessons around mid-May (weather permitting!)
Thank you for your kind understanding.
Just a reminder that the final installment for the Tongyeong trip (including the 10 000 won emergency money) should be paid by 12 noon on Friday 31st March. Please make your payment at the school office.
Many thanks to those of you who have already paid.
