Hello everyone.
What a fantastic way to way to end the week with our Halloween party and all the children had a great time. There was lots of candy eaten, many games played and everyone looked very spooky or cute in their costumes. Thank you to all the parents that volunteered and helped create an amazing event!
In English the children have started a poetry unit, we are looking at a Haiku and we are using Studio Ghibli animation movies to help inspire our writing. The children looked at images and clips of Howl’s Moving Castle and create various descriptive phrases and sentences around these.
For IPC, I have decided to switch our units slightly, we are now doing a unit called ‘Making New Materials’, we will pick up ‘Going with the Flow’ later this year. To start this unit the students explored ice and tested the properties of different materials. Next week, they will begin to look at the different states of matter and we will be looking at the changes of states.
In maths, the students have looked at factors and multiples and next week will be moving on to multiplying and dividing by 10, 100, and 1000.
