We have been having so much fun the past 2 weeks making lots of Christmas art.

While listening to Christmas carols, we created a Christmas story on wood, drew warm Christmas wreaths with oil pastels, and painted it using various materials. We also produced a big Christmas poster with great teamwork skills.

We had a great opportunity to explore various materials that we hadn’t used much before.

Our HFS kids’ creativity shone brightly in their wonderful work and it was such a fun time! I hope they remember this lovely time!

I will continue to prepare fun lessons for on the students next term.

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year!

As Christmas approaches, kids can hardly contain their excitement. Working a Christmas theme into your activities is a wonderful way to use that enthusiasm to help kids engage in meaningful learning activities.

December is here now. Now is the perfect time to teach a Christmas theme. Kids can share what their family does throughout the season and learn about how other traditions worldwide celebrate Christmas.

This week we created Christmas art and will use this theme for the rest of the two weeks.

FS 1-2 friends drew our beautiful Christmas trees and decorated our Christmas trees. We drew colourful Christmas lights with oil pastels and coloured them. Then we decorated to add beautiful Christmas images on there. They look so cozy and beautiful. We also created lovely 3D snowmen!!

This week, Y 1-2 friends expressed a fantastic pirate ship with a picture.

By drawing flags (Jolly Roger) and sails with a skull symbolizing a pirate ship, a wonderful pirate ship that ventures out on the sea has been completed. I tried to express the flowing waves with paint. How is it? Isn’t it so cool?

Y 3-4 kids drew beautiful Christmas trees and ornaments in art.

We started by drawing the tree branches with a brown Oil pastel. Then I proceeded to draw the leaves with a dark green Oil pastel and then to add highlights with a lighter shade of green. We drew some sizes of sphere shapes for making Christmas ornaments and coloured them with water paints. After drying, we cut the outline of the ornaments and stuck them on our beautiful Christmas tree. This activity was a very simple but super fun little project where the children could mix different Media, experiment with patterns, paint and a little collage.

It will be displayed around the hallway and make us feel Christmas is coming soon!

Y 5-6 created a beautiful Christmas Pixel Art this week. We know how to make Pixel Art, and we made it up by choosing some Christmas images we like. They look super cute, and we can now create images using the Pixel Art technique.

Y7-9 students made a Christmas photo booth. We made a selfie station to take pictures with Christmas-inspired images in a prepared frame. Selfie Station, full of personality, was completed creatively with Y 7-9 students’ ideas. On the day of the Winter Show, visitors and students can take pictures in front of the photo booth.
