FS1-2 read the story “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and then created their own caterpillar with paints. It was a lot of fun! Next week we are going to make food that the caterpillar eats daily. Also, we are going to create our very own butterfly!

Y 1-2 Art – Term 1 Week 9

In our IPC unit this week we started investigating the circus. So, in art we learned about and watched a video about circus performances and talked about what we felt was the most impressive part of the circus. We expressed our opinions about the best animal performances with drawings. They all look amazing, well done!

Y 3-5 Art – Term 1 Week 9

We each designed our own Egyptian headdress. This time we printed out our pictures (one side of face) and drew on and decorated the headdress using our own ideas. We haven’t finished this work yet, but they already look amazing! Next week we will see our completed beautiful headdresses that we created!

Y 6-9 Art – Term 1 Week 9

Continuing with our Modigliani creations which we started two weeks ago with portrait painting, we worked on our sculpted busts this week. We coloured our clay busts with paint and so far they look fabulous! Next week we’ll be learning about a different famous artist.

Y 1-2 Art – Term 1 Week 8

Halloween is such a fun time of year and children love this period.

HFS students each decorated their own “Trick or Treat” bag for Halloween this week.

They drew Halloween characters such as pumpkin faces, witches. vampires, zombies and ghosts. Also, they added spiders, spider webs around the characters.

Some characters are very spooky and some are very funny.

They had lots of fun. We are looking forward to having our Halloween treats now!

Well done, everyone!!

FS 1-2 Art – Term 1 Week 7

We’ve been learning about shapes.

FS1-2 friends sang a song “what shape is it?”

After singing we could find out the name of shapes and created robots.

Some friends added rectangles for the legs and triangles or circles for the feet.

They designed their robots using their own ideas.

Finally, we completed our cute robots.

Y 1-2 Art – Term 1 Week 7

Y1-2 students observed Pop art “happy tears” by Roy Lichtenstein.

First, we shared our feelings and emotions seeing this picture and created our own titles.

We talked about our experience when we have tears and when we are happy if we have tears.

Then we drew our “happy tears” looking inspired by Roy Lichtenstein.

I think our students work is more adorable and fantastic than Roy Lichtenstein.

Well done, everyone!

Y 3-5 Art – Term 1 Week 7

Y3-5 students continued making Egyptian jewelries and headdresses.

When they completed it, they were so excited to wear their Egyptian jewelries and headdresses.

Everyone so enjoyed this time and I am so proud of them.

Well done!!
