40th Birthday Event

We will be holding a special event to celebrate the school’s 40th birthday on Wednesday 7th September. Parents are invited to attend a special assembly at 1.45 pm. If you would like to attend the assembly please contact the Admin Office so we can ensure we have enough seating.

We will be inviting some special guests and holding a ceremony in school. The students have also been challenged to think about what their life will be like 10 years in the future when the school is 50 years old. We will also be creating a time capsule containing letters and memories to be opened in 2032.

On Wednesday 7th September classes will also be holding parties to celebrate the school’s birthday.

Chuseok Celebration

The school will celebrate the Korean holiday of Chuseok on Thursday 8th September. Students are invited to come to school wearing Korean Hanbok or traditional dress from their home country. Dressing up is optional. On this day Mrs Lee, our Korean Teacher, will be talking to the students about the meaning of Chuseok.

Interested parents are invited to join the school’s Consultative Committee.

The purpose of this committee is to:

  • To ensure smooth and effective communication amongst all stakeholders in the school
  • To help the school community acquire an improved understanding of the operation of the school
  • To more readily listen to the views and opinions of the school community and reflect them in the management of the school

This group would meet once a term to discuss the school’s operations.

If you would like to be involved please send an email to Mr Green.

Parent/Teacher Association

A message from Mrs Leah (School PTA Representative)

A really big thank you and welcome to all the parents who made the first PTA meeting this Thursday! We hashed out some great ideas for the upcoming HFS 40th Anniversary event and there are so many ideas already growing for school events this year. I look forward to working with everyone and continuing to strive to make HFS a fun and memorable experience for students and families alike! If you would still like to join the PTA, or couldn’t make this week’s meeting, please email Mrs Leah.
