Newsletter 2020/21 Term 2 Week 2

Posted in - Latest News

It has been great to see all our students back in school again this week. Everyone looked happy, well-rested and excited to be back at school. We are very proud of how our students cope with E-Learning but the teachers were all pleased to be teaching real students instead of screens.

Hopefully, that will be the last time we will have to do E-Learning!

HFS Talent Show

We were all very disappointed to have to cancel the Winter Show and miss the chance to see some amazing performances. To make up for this disappointment we have decided to hold a Talent Show this term. This will be a chance for students to show off all sorts of talents they possess. Further details will follow but now its time to start thinking about who wants to be involved in the show and what you might want to do.

Maybe some parents could show off some hidden talents.

CIS Community Survey

Thank you to everyone who has completed the CIS Community Survey. We have received responses from around three-quarter of our parents and they have been overwhelmingly positive. It was possible to spot a few patterns in the results and we will take this feedback onboard.

If you have not completed the survey it is still available until Friday 5th February.

After School Activities

After School Activities will be starting next week and we have had an amazing response. It looks like lots of students will be very busy next week. Please make sure you have signed-up. We politely ask that you are on-time to collect your children after clubs have finished at 4.30 pm. There is no school bus after clubs.

You can check what clubs you are signed up for here.

School Photographs

We would like to take class photographs on Thursday 28th January (next week).

All students should wear their blue school shirts on this day, please.

Bus Schedule

The afternoon School Bus Schedule has been updated. Please check the time for picking up your child

THINK before you speak

At HFS we use this system to encourage students to speak to each other in a positive way. Maybe you would like to reinforce this at home also.

Volunteering at HFS

Now that the COVID-19 situation is getting better again we are happy to welcome volunteers at HFS. If you would like to volunteer to help in school in some way please contact Mr Green to arrange a chat. All volunteers working in school will need an up-to-date criminal record check. From next week Mrs Shin (Mia’s mum) will be in school to help in the library. Mrs Shin is a fully qualified teacher, and we are very happy to have her with us.

Dongrami Theatre

Many of our students are involved with Dongrami Theatre and we are very proud of their acting and singing skills. Well done everyone!

If you would like details about how to get involved please contact the school office.
