Dear Parents,

The year is quickly coming to an end and we seem very busy now at school with various events and things.  We are looking forward to June as it should be an exciting month for everyone!

Track and Field Carnival in Busan

The Year 4-9 students have done an excellent job thus far preparing for the SKAC Track and Field Carnival.  Next Tuesday, June 5th we will be travelling to Sajik Stadium in Busan to compete with several other schools.  The Year 4-9 Students must arrive at school on Tuesday morning no later than 7:40 am.  We will arrive back at HFS around 4:30 – 5:00 pm.

They should bring/wear the following:

  • a hat
  • sunscreen
  • shorts and their HFS PE shirt
  • running shoes
  • a packed lunch that does not need to be heated
  • a water bottle with their name on it

The students are looking forward to this annual event because it gives them the opportunity to compete athletically, and make some new friends along the way.

Memorial Day

There will be no school on Wednesday, June 6th.  Have a great rest!

Leavers

If your family are leaving between now and the end of term, please let the school office know what will be the last day for your child a week before departure.  It will take a few days to get the transfer certificate issued from the school office.

As part of our IMYC units on traditions the Year 7/8/9 the students have been thinking about the traditions behind the way a school year is organised.  They then looked at different ways they could structure a year in school and came up with some very interesting ideas and insights.

As it is nearing the end of the year we want to do something different for all the children and families on a Thursday afternoon!

At midday the children will walk to the clubhouse.  There will be a pizza lunch provided by the PTA, we will be asking for parents to provide yummy treats as well.

After lunch the children will be sitting down with some popcorn and watching a movie!  They will then return to school before the end of day bell.

Please click here to let us know numbers of family that will be attending, so that we can provide lunch for all of them.

PTA 2018-2019

We cannot stress enough the importance of having a PTA in a school.  When you have a strong PTA, good things happen for the students in a school.  We are coming to the end of an era at HFS.  We are all moving from the compound, many are going home and the school site is moving to the Hanmaeum Center temporarily next year.  This is the exact time for all of us to pull together and ensure that the PTA continues at HFS.  The final PTA meeting of the year will be Tuesday, June 5th at 9am.  We urge all parents to come so we can brainstorm how we can organize the PTA for next year.

See you there!

Best Wishes,

Peter McLeod

PTA for next school year 2018 / 2019

It is hard to believe we are nearly half way thru term 3 already.  It is time to start planning the PTA team for next school year.  If you will be part of the school community please consider being part of the PTA Team.

The PTA are volunteer parents who get together monthly to arrange fun events for the children of the school.  This year they have included, picnic lunches with fun activities, international food day,  assisting the children with their school disco, scholastic book order and the school fun day.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the team for next school year please email pta@hyundaiforeignschool.com.

Without a PTA these fun events will not happen for the children and the school community.

We hope to hear from you soon!

Regards
