Internationalism
In the spirit of internationalism, we are studying where all students and staff come from.  Our goal is to celebrate both our similarities and differences.  We will be taking each child’s picture on Monday to put up on our world map.  Also, if any parents have any currency, postcards, anything really, from their country that they would like to donate to the school to help decorate our world map, please send it in with your child on Monday.

Fun Day
Our Fun Day was a Huge success!  Thank you to the PTA for organising this worthwhile event.

Middle School Futsal Finals at Busan International Foreign School
On Wednesday the HFS middle school futsal team traveled to Busan for the Futsal Finals. They lost a close match against BFS in their first game. Afterwards, they rebounded with a hard fought victory against DIS 4-3. Their 1-1 record vaulted them to the quarter finals of the tournament where they lost to BIFS, the eventual tournament champions. Everyone at HFS is proud of the dedication, effort, and sportsmanship displayed by our middle school students leading up to and during the tournament. A special thank you should also go to all Year 5/6 students involved in helping our Middle School team train over the past month.

Report Cards
Report Cards will be distributed on December 8th and Parent–Teacher Conference will be on 13th. We will inform you the time at another date.
You will notice that we have changed the format of our report cards.  Teachers have now written anecdotal comments in the subject areas. We are confident you will find these reports informative.

Leavers
Families who are leaving our school are requested to provide at least seven days notice of their intended leaving date.  This give the school office time to prepare proper documents for leavers.  Please contact the school office directly with any queries at admin@hyundaiforeignschool.com.  Thank you very much in advance for your cooperation with this matter.

Dear HSF Parents,

58423_plain

It has come to my attention that some parents are driving too fast in the compound!  Parents are concerned that we will end up with a child hurt or worse.

Please drive slowly in the compound!!!

Parent Volunteers in the Library

It seems that some parents missed our meeting for parents who wanted to volunteer in the library after school.  There will be another meeting for anyone interested on Monday @3:30 pm in the library.  See you there!

Students have 4 days away from school beginning tomorrow.  That does not mean that learning is put on hold!!!  All students are expected to READ everyday at home.  Parents should discuss with your child what they are reading and help them if needed.

“Readers are Leaders!”

Have a safe and productive long weekend!

Dear HSF Parents,

We have had an exciting week at HFS and we are pleased to share with you what new and interesting things we have been doing.

Dress Up Day

6. Dress Up Day-2

7. Dress Up Day-3

This was a huge success and fun was had by everyone.  The children dressed in their favourite costumes and began the day by touring the classrooms and offices in school.  Then we paraded as a school out in the community showing everyone what we were doing.  Students particularly enjoyed having their picture taken with the Police Chief off campus.  We returned from our parade to a picnic organized by the PTA.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this day a tremendous success!

Library Volunteers

We would like to thank Mrs. Psarros and Mrs. Davis for volunteering in the library on Monday and Thursday afternoons.  The library will now be open for students to return and take out books, read and use the new computers in the library after school.

Library hours are:

Monday and Thursday-3:30 pm-4:15 pm.

Parents are welcome and feel free to bring your children!

Coffee with the Principal

8. Coffe Morning with Principal

We had a nice time chatting and having a snack together after students went to class.  This is a time where we can all get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere. We will continue this, “Coffee Morning,” on a monthly basis.

Healthy Food, Healthy Future!

It has come to our attention that some of the students have had soda, energy drinks and gum in their lunches.  Please……our students need only healthy fuel to keep them energized.  No unhealthy food or drinks should be sent to school.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Healthy Food, Healthy Future!
